What a weird whirlwind 2022 was. The Gaymber wasn’t immune to the whirlwind by any means, but I daresay ours was a little more colorful (and certainly more glittery) than others. It was a good year, finding our groove with in-person breakfasts again, growing our membership by over 30%, and increasing our social reach by leaps and bounds.

Today is Trangender Day Of Visibility. It is usually a day for celebration, but at the moment I am not feeling very celebratory.
Housing Instability in the LGBTQIA+ Community
According to an in-depth study by the Williams Institute of UCLA, LGBTQIA+ people reported experiencing homelessness or housing instability at a rate that is twice that of the general population. Additionally, they found that most of the respondents in their study experienced this for the first time in their life as adults. Unfortunately, adult housing instability in our community receives far less attention than youth homelessness does.
